Some of the most important work happens outside the office. On June 12, the PatientWing team is heading down Broad Street to spend the day with Broad Street Love, serving lunch and welcoming neighbors facing homelessness and food insecurity in Philadelphia.
It's our Summer Service Day, the latest chapter in a commitment we made years ago and a tradition that has grown alongside our company.
PatientWing has been part of Pledge 1% since 2021. The pledge is simple: companies dedicate 1% of their time, equity, products, or profits to charitable causes.
For us, that has translated into a steady, hands-on commitment that has scaled with our team. Every quarter, we step away from our laptops and step into the communities around us. This quarter, that means a day at Broad Street Love.
Broad Street Love is a Philadelphia organization that welcomes people experiencing homelessness and food insecurity with hospitality, meals, and dignity. Supporting a cause can take many forms. You can donate from a distance, or you can show up, share a meal, and spend time with the people at the heart of the work. We chose to show up, because those moments create the kind of connection that stays with you.
Most of the people on the PatientWing team joined because they believe in something bigger than campaign performance or recruitment numbers. They believe that no one should be left behind because of where they live, what language they speak, or how they navigate the healthcare system.
That belief is the foundation of how we approach clinical research. It is also the reason we volunteer.
The communities we serve on days like this share something with the communities our work seeks to reach: limited access to care, fewer resources, and insufficient information about the options available to them.
Our work looks different on a Service Day than it does Monday through Friday. The values behind it are the same.
In our first quarterly service day, we joined forces with TransPerfect to double our impact. We loved the energy of doing it together, so we're looking for new partners to join us on June 12.
