Uterine fibroids are generally benign tumors in the uterus that can grow under the influence of estrogen. Symptoms of fibroids may include very heavy bleeding, pressure in the lower abdomen, pressure on the bladder, and painful periods. While we do not exactly know what causes fibroids, several clinical trials, including this one, are evaluating the effectiveness of new treatment options to manage the symptoms of uterine fibroids.

Why should I participate?

All participants will receive study related treatment and medications at no cost

What's involved?

This clinical trial is a 3 year trial for a drug that is currently used in Canada to treat uterine fibroids. There are approximately fifteen study visits throughout the 3 year clinical trial and participants may decide to continue or discontinue at any time.

Who can participate?

Women between the ages of 18 and 50 who:
-have a diagnosis of uterine fibroids
-experience heavy menstrual bleeding
