This study is looking to recruit 15 Participants

The purpose of this study is to obtain preliminary device safety information and demonstrate proof of principle (feasibility of efficacy) of the ability of people with tetraplegia to control a computer cursor and other assistive devices with their thoughts.

What's involved?

We are studying an investigational technology which may allow an individual with quadriplegia from spinal cord injury, brainstem stroke, muscular dystrophy, or ALS to control a computer cursor and assistive devices, like a robotic arm, by thought. This study is invasive and requires surgery. Research sessions occur at participants’ home or residence. Participants must live within 3 hours drive of Boston, MA or Providence, RI. The clinical trial requires a commitment of 13 (thirteen) months. The study is being conducted by Dr. Leigh Hochberg at Massachusetts General Hospital.
