This study is looking to recruit 100 Participants

The purpose of this phone or video interview is to understand patients’ experiences with MAbs and MAC lung disease. This will identify which signs, symptoms, and related impacts on daily life are the most important and relevant to MAbs and MAC patients. The information collected during this study will help develop and refine questionnaires to assess patient outcomes for MAbs and MAC for upcoming clinical trials and other research studies.

You may not benefit medically from participating in this study.

However, the results of these interviews could potentially assist in the design of upcoming clinical trials and other research studies.

If eligible for this phone or virtual interview, you will receive a $125 gift card upon completion of your interview.

What's involved?

If you wish to participate, you will be asked to complete a consent form, a medical information release form, and a short questionnaire to help determine your eligibility to participate.

If you agree to allow for release of your medical information, your physician will be contacted and asked to also complete a questionnaire to assess your eligibility to participate.

If you meet the inclusion criteria for this study, you will be scheduled for a separate interview session via phone or video chat.

During the interview session, you will be asked to discuss your experience living with Mycobacterium abscessus (MAbs) lung disease or Mycobacterium avium complex (MAC) lung disease.

We estimate the interview will take approximately 90 minutes to complete. Upon completion of the phone or video chat interview, you will be given a gift card of $125.

Yes, you will be required to provide informed consent to participate in the study. This will be administered electronically by providing your name and contact information and completing a series of screening questions. You will not be required to sign a separate document.
