Dr. Hochberg is a principal investigator on the BrainGate research Team. The BrainGate Research Team at Brown University, Massachusetts General Hospital, Stanford University, Case Western Reserve University, and Providence VA Medical Center comprises clinicians, scientists, and engineers working together to advance understanding of human brain function and to develop neurotechnologies for people with neurologic disease, injury, or limb loss.
Dr. Hochberg is the Director of the Center for Neurotechnology and Neurorecovery, Neurocritical Care and Acute Stroke Services, Department of Neurology at Massachusetts General Hospital. Dr. Hochberg is also a Professor of Engineering at Brown University. Dr. Hochberg serves as the Director of the Veteran's Affairs Rehabilitation Research and Development Center for Neurorestoration and Neurotechnology at the VA Medical Center in Providence RI. Dr. Hochberg is a senior lecturer on Neurology at Harvard Medical School.
We hope that BrainGate technologies will become a powerful means to restore communication, mobility, and independence to people with paralysis. The team’s investigator-initiated research is focused on advancing the science and medicine of restorative neural interfaces.
